What colour is Smeg Storm Blue?

New Smeg colour

Smeg

Smeg’s new colour, Storm Blue, has a dark undertone, making it a moodier take on the viral coastal blue shades that we’ve seen over the summer, epitomised in KitchenAid’s 2024 colour Blue Salt. To enhance its wintery feel, Storm Blue has a soft touch matte finish.

Although the darker tint definitely gives this shade a more frosty look, we think it would look good all year round. It’s great for adding subtle colour to stripped-back, monochrome kitchens, or adding a calming hue to colourful homes.

Which Smeg colour should I choose?

Smeg

Smeg is well known for its retro, 1950s-inspired designs which come in beautiful colours. There’s more choice than you might think, so here are our tips on what to consider before taking the plunge.

The biggest decision is probably whether you want all your kitchen appliances to be in one matching colour, or whether you’d prefer to have just the small appliances in one shade (kettle, toaster, coffee machine etc) and then have large items like the fridge in another colour. Or you could opt for a minimal scheme and choose just a few pieces to add a pop of colour to your kitchen.

Smeg’s colour schemes are mostly pastels with pale pink, blue, green and cream proving popular, but there are also bright shades on offer like ruby red and orange.

The brand also regularly collaborates on colourways, like its partnership with fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana which comes in Blue Mediterrano (a blue and white pattern) and Sicily is my Love (a combination of red and yellow motifs). We haven’t been able to stop thinking about this collaboration since it first launched and have been dreaming about making our breakfast in the beautiful blue and white toaster.
